Our swimming pool officially opened for the 2015 season this morning. At 10 a.m., to be exact.
I walked over at 10:02, and found that Joe and Sylvia have kept their record in tact. For the third consecutive year, this couple, aka the Lake Superior dippers, are first in the water.
Thanks to the brilliant sunshine today, and our trusty pool heater, the water is fine.
But the water temp is (a hard to see) 78 degrees.
In fact, it was so pleasant, that Joe and Sylvia are threatening to stay in the pool until 4:30, when a lot of us will gather for the weekly POOLside social.
None of this would have been possible without our very dedicated pool team, a large group of volunteers led by Bob and Bob. Thanks to all of them!
As I was about to leave, Sammie came walking over with his humans. He really, really wanted to join in the fun. But, sorry, no dogs are allowed inside the fence.
He’ll have his chance, but he’ll have to wait until the last swimming day in September and our annual Pooch Plunge for dogs. Hang in there, Sammie!
Our YMCA supposedly has the indoor pool set at 83 degrees, and it’s still too chilly for me!
